Didn't they do well?

I've been busy. For the last few months I've been teaching at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. I've been helping out in the Animation department with the postgraduates while they undertook an industry-led project in conjunction with Axis Animation.

The project - Going Live - was to re-imagine and animate classic fairytale. The students had a semester to create their animation and present it to Axis. My job was to get them to the finish line. So, there was a lot of coaching around teamwork, development, production, story-telling and Maya. The class of 18 was split into two teams. Neither had a smooth ride, and both had some quite significant challenges to overcome.

I found the experience incredibly enjoyable and I'm very proud of the work that they produced. I view these animations and see triumphs in every frame because I know what it was like behind the scenes. But, what a talented bunch. I'll hopefully see you guys up at the degree show in August. To Phil Vaughan - thanks!

Team 1: The 3 Billy Piñatas

Team 2: Little Round Riding Hood

Coming soon - awaiting 'finishing touches'
