About me

Hello. I'm a specialist in many kinds of digital production, but specifically 3D graphics. I've set up and led teams and projects in the following fields: animation, visualisation, CG effects, computer games, software development and product design. Over the last few years I have:

  • Led and managed several CGI teams in visualisation, animation and computer games
  • Led and managed several product development teams in app and software projects
  • Run the CG studio for a large (35+ artists) 3D team
  • Been hired as a consultant/trouble-shooter for ailing production teams
  • Devised and shipped "Muvizu" and "RenderDigimania", two innovative, game engine-based 3D software apps
  • Produced several CG animations for web and TV
  • Been Product Director and Managing Director for a 3D software company
  • Designed interactive touchscreen kiosks
  • Worked in the global design department of a leading consumer electronics brand
  • Mentored animation students at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and the Glasgow School of Art

I'm a pragmatist and good with people. I love working alongside creative teams. Along the way I've picked up a few awards, a patent and many invitations to speak at events.

I've two degrees (BEng Product Design, MPhil Advanced 3D Graphics and Virtual Prototyping) and a fondness for drawing, designing, outdoors, 5-a-sides, table tennis, golf and marble runs. Dig into my past and you'll find a spell as a radio broadcaster too.
